Merit Scholarships
Overview:There are over thirty (30) merit scholarships available for students applying for 9th grade admission. By submitting a complete admission application to our Academy, applicants qualify to be considered for a merit scholarship.
Onward Scholars Program:The Onward Scholars Program (OSP) is a unique four-year scholarship and academic enrichment program. PMA is the only co-ed High School that has this program. OSP provides students a solid bridge to a college education by providing extensive individual support and exposing them to opportunities that inspire confidence, grit, and leadership. In addition to financial assistance, mentoring, and college access, Scholars are welcomed into a cohort of twelve (12) highly motivated, academically successful students who support one another for four years. This scholarship covers 75% of tuition over the student's four years in addition to a $2,000 stipend. *To be considered, there is an additional essay response that will need to be submitted with the PMA Admissions Application.
President's Scholarship:This scholarship is awarded to one incoming 9th grader who demonstrates excellent academic and co-curricular success during their time in 6, 7, & 8th grades. The President's Scholarship covers 75% of tuition over the student's four years in addition to a $2,000 stipend that can be used on college and career exploration.
Principal's Scholarship:This scholarship is awarded to one incoming 9th grader who demonstrates excellent academic and co-curricular success during their time in 6, 7, & 8th grades. The Principal's Scholarship covers 50% of tuition over the student's four years in addition to a $1,000 stipend that can be used on college and career exploration.
Macdonald and Rach Family Scholarships:
These scholarships are awarded to seven (7) incoming 9th graders who display a strength of character, involvement in their community, and a commitment to a spirit of teamwork and collaboration by a high level of participation in extra curricular activities during their 6, 7, & 8th grade years. These scholarships cover $5,000 of tuition each year, totaling at $20,000 over a student's four years.
Warrior Scholarship:The Warrior Scholarship is awarded to ten (10) incoming 9th graders of the amount of $8,000 over a student's four years. This is awarded to students who demonstrate and live out PMA's Integral Student Outcomes (ISO's).
Class of '62 Can Do Scholarship:The Pius X High School Class of 1962 offers a scholarship to one incoming 9th grader of the amount of $6,000 over a student's four years. This is awarded to a student who meet the criteria of a strong student both inside and outside of the classroom. A student's financial need is put into consideration for only this merit scholarship.
