New Head Varisty Football Coach

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy (PMA) is pleased to announce that it has hired Coach Todd Butler as head Varsity Football coach for the PMA Warriors which will begin playing 11-man tackle football this Fall.

Coach Butler comes to Pius-Matthias Academy after serving the last 12 years at West Torrance High School and Redondo Union High School in a variety of roles.  In his most recent role as Offensive Coordinator at WTHS, he ran the hurry-up, no-huddle offensive attack, contributing to his teams’ five consecutive CIF Playoff appearances, with one Finals and two Semi-Finals bids.

Coach Butler currently also teaches in the Kinesiology Department at California State University, Dominguez Hills, where he earned his Master’s degree in Kinesiology Administration. It will be Coach Butler’s mission at PMA to develop a quality, student-centered football program built on the ideals of Character, “Team First,” and Competition.

On serving in this new role, Coach Butler remarks, “I am tremendously humbled and thankful to God for the opportunity to join the St. Pius-St. Matthias family.  I would be nowhere without my incredible wife Mariam, the support of my family, and the joy of raising my beautiful two-year old son, Ethan.  Go Warriors!”

We are excited to have Coach Butler join the PMA Warrior Family and are confident that his leadership will instill PRIDE, VIRTUE, and PURPOSE in our athletes, coaches, and school community.
