2018 FALL RETREAT
The goal of this retreat is to help youth experience the Paschal Mystery in their lives. The Paschal Mystery is about Christ’s death and Resurrection. Every time we experience suffering or darkness in our life, whether through our own sins, the sins of others, or simply because it is dark point in our life, we always have the opportunity to unite ourselves to Christ’s death and Resurrection. Whether it is a “little death” or a “big death” we experience, that death leads to resurrection when it is united to Christ. In short, Christ restores us to life through His death and Resurrection and we experience this restoration through every suffering that is united to Christ.
UNSTOPPABLE (Fall Junior Retreat) November 8-9, 2018
Based on the life of St. Paul, the goal of the retreat is for the teens to encounter the incredible power of God’s grace to convert and transform their lives. This retreat will also show the teens that conversion is a process instead of a single event. Finally this retreat will empower the teens to become an unstoppable force of God’s grace in their world.
PMA strives to engage students with our deep connection to God through a set time designed to connect them to their sense of pride, virtue and purpose. We believe that the spiritual life is foundational in the culture of the school and a cornerstone of a Catholic education.
At St. Pius X - St. Matthias Academy, grade level has two mandatory retreats, one per semester, and it gives each soul, no matter the age, a time to pause and ask the pertinent questions about our lives and to find some answers that can help us begin again.
All Seniors attend KAIROS, information can be located on the KAIROS link to the right of the page.
2019 SPRING RETREAT
RIGHTEOUSNESS (Spring Freshman Retreat) January 25, 2019
We owed a debt we couldn’t pay; He paid a debt He didn’t owe. We owe a debt we can’t pay. Who has the righteousness to volunteer as tribute? This theme explores who Jesus was and how His sacrifice restores our relationship with God. This retreat is lead by NET Ministries.
The goal of this retreat is to help Juniors take a greater ownership in their faith as they head toward high school graduation. Using Colossians 2:7 and Pope Benedict’s World Youth Day message as the basis, this retreat will challenge the participants to look at the roots of their faith, what it is growing into and how it will thrive through the storms that inevitably come. The retreat also seeks to remind the upperclassmen of the importance of the Sacraments and active participation in the life of the Church in order to truly thrive in the years to come. They will have 2 hours to put their faith into action through a service project.
