Vision & Mission
The Social Science Department at St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy aims to develop students into responsible citizens who are well-versed in local, national, and global contexts. The department emphasizes the understanding and celebration of global cultures through a curriculum that integrates both primary and secondary sources. This approach enhances critical reading, fact interpretation, and analytical writing skills, with a focus on evaluating events from a Catholic/Christian perspective to instill values of goodness and justice. Our mission is to prepare students for active citizenship by providing a comprehensive understanding of diverse cultures and historical events.
